Electrical Fitter
This Electrical Fitter course is a Artisan Certificate program accredited by NITA.
This Artisan Certificate in Electrical Fitting course is ideally suited for students who are looking to learn the basics of electrical installation and who want to develop the technical skills required to undertake basic maintenance in commercial and residential settings.
Students enrolled into this Electrical Fitter course are trained to install and maintain low and high voltage wiring, and to install distribution cabinets and electrical shock protection systems.
Upon graduation, students will be able to:
- Work with various technologies such as lighting, wiring, power transmissions, satellite communications, telecommunications, and household appliances.
- Assess an electrical system to see if it meets standards and if there are any safety or efficiency concerns, as well as developing a new installation from the ground up.
- Problem solve on magnetic and electromagnetic devices, single path circuits, low voltage a.c. circuits, direct current machines and multiple path circuits
- Fit, assemble, erect, manufacture, operate, test, fault find, repair and alter electrical equipment.
- Apply environmental and sustainable practices.
- Follow work health and safety practices.
- Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
- Exposure to the industry through on the job training
- An understanding of safe and sustainable work practices in the electrotechnology industry
- Skills to problem-solve a variety of circuits

- Eligibility to apply for a restricted electrical licence
