Community Health and HIV - AIDS Management
This Community Health and HIV - AIDS Management course is a Diploma program accredited by KNEC.
The Diploma in Community Health and HIV/AIDS Management aims at producing a health worker who is capable of addressing health issues on a bottom up approach i.e. from community to global perspective and critically analyze the related health problems with a view of proposing possible solutions.
HIV/AIDS is a global problem effecting communities and nations all over the world.
So that you can better understand what a career in community health looks like, here are some of the duties and responsibilities that you will be expected to discharge on a daily basis if you do the course.- Articulate health problems/challenges affecting the community
- Participate diseases fighting programs in different capacities.
- Educate the communities/societies on how to identify communicable and non-communicable diseases
- Sensitize communities on pandemics such as the HIV/AIDS pandemic
- Counsel people that have been affected by different diseases/ailments in the community
- Help in Providing important health services (maternal, nutritional, family planning services, and more).
Community Health and HIV AIDS Management graduates are eligible to find employment in either of the following:
- Hospital and private Hospitals
- Non-Governmental organizations (World vision, AMPATH, world relief, compassion, Save the children, UNICEF, etc.)
- National Government and counties ministries (ministry of health, agriculture, culture and social services)
- Community projects
- Rehabilitation centers
- Rescue centers
- Faith based organization
- Community based organization
- Self-employment
